Time to say goodbye
Hi guys and girls. Unfortunately I have bad news about the show as it pertains to future episodes. As you know, I haven’t recorded an episode since July 1, 2011 and it doesn’t look like I’ll be recording another episode anytime soon. So rather than leave you with a “pod-fade” where the podcast just disappears without any closure, I’ve recorded this goodbye. Please have a listen to the audio. No music, just me talking.
In a nutshell, my time is too limited and I’m stretched too thin to keep recording episodes. I need closure for myself and I think I owe it to you. I feel that life is about balance, and I need to keep mine in check.
I plan to keep this web site up so that you can grab all back episodes. So whether or not they’re still on iTunes, you can grab them here.
Thanks to all the creative reggae music artists, musicians, producers, producers, and labels that have fueled the show. Thanks to all the subscribers and to those who have provided great feedback to me. I will treasure all of your comments, e-mails, Facebook messages, and voice mails. Please listen to the audio for the best ways to stay in touch.
Thank you.

Sir Joshua B,
THANKS SO MUCH for Reggae Rhythm Update….. truly wonderful shows. The best…..
Continually the most played on my ipod.
To you -> ONE LOVE, PEACE, HAPPINESS and OVERSTANDING.
I’m so happy that your doing the right thing and recognising your family responsibilities, geting the balance right etc. Good for you Joshua – don’t be sad about it cos’ it’s something to celebrate… a bit like a completed masterpiece !
I’m on a very long recovery trail but will keep listening to the Reggae Rhythm Update groove machine. It’s timeless …. even the Studio One stuff which still sounds cool to my ears.
Thanks for reigniting my love of reggae,
Richard (a Scottish Rasta)….. peace brother.

A very touching good-bye. You are first class! I know you have agonized over this decision. I, also, know you made the right decision – at least for now. Maybe you and your son will be back on air together in the future. You have influenced countless people in a positive way. Keep that in mind. May the blessing of God Almighty be with you.

Sad, truly sad………………
I was thinking if you happened to get divorced will the Reggae Rhythm Update return?
Anyway, just a thought, and will miss your programs.
I want to share another great reggae pod cast I have discovered called “Ian’s House Of Reggae”.
Respect to Joshua B, you have always given me props and I am forever greatful to you, my friend.

Hey JAHsh — Congrats on bringing great reggae to listeners for the past several years. As one who relates to the adjustments of early parenthood, I support your change in focus. And yet I do suspect that someday Roland will be helping you to fire up the Golden Touch console and resume broadcastin’ de riddim. Yours — Jon

Hey Joshua
Like many others I was wandering what was happening and getting worried about you man…so pleased you posted the goodby for now message buddy.
Looks like you not only have the best music taste in the world, but are also aiming for best Dad and Husband too:) Good for you!
Speaking as a father of two boys…I think you are so doing the right thing. We will all miss your shows, but you have one window with that little man of yours and it passes by so quickly…make the most of every wonderful minute of it buddy. My boys are now in late teens and i do sometimes regret my chosen time balancing path over the years…you are a wise man sir, be proud.
One day Roland will look back at your body of work and listen to your goodbye message and be blown away by what you did…I also suspect if he’s like most sons, he will be touched by the one drop influence from Dad and hey maybe you two can share the workload of a GT rebirth of the shows and he can learn some valuable life skills being part of the broadcast.
Sound like a recipe for family success to me Joshua…all the very best to you, your wife and your little boy.
Fingers crossed for the J & R Golden Touch Rebirth sometime ahead.
Respect
Mike

I came to you late, only found you in Autumn of 2011 but better to have found you late than to have not found you at all…
You are gifted JB and now blessed with a family and, my child is 23yrs old, I can see very clearly that what you are doing is so right. It seems like only yesterday that she was little and in the blink of an eye, she is grown…
…do not feel bad JoshuaB.
You have brought such wonderful niceness (struggled for a better word and gave up!) to so many that you should be very very proud of yourself.
If it’s any comfort, know that when Roland reaches 23, you will find that spare time will return to you and you will go back to the things you enjoyed – you will re-learn and you will up-skill and you will enjoy them all over again. I am 53 and have just completed my first painting in water colour. Before my girl came, I loved to draw but never painted. You will create art in sound again…
I am unable to download podcasts before #38 and that’s a real shame but I give thanks for what I’ve got, just as you have…
THANK YOU for sharing Yourself with us.
Blessings to you and yours – Fausteen

Josh.
My whole day changed for the worse when I got word that your podcast was ending! It’s like a baby losing his favorite blanket.
Thanks for your time, your effort and most of all, your passion for the music.
Goodbye……………for now…..?
Much Respect

Joshua,
Thanks so much for so many enjoyable podcasts, brother! As with many of your other fans, I still enjoy listening to favorite episodes that I’ve downloaded.
All things as they should be, man. Focus on family and enjoy that to the utmost! If it’s meant to be, you’ll return to the studio to produce more sessions.
It’s been a real pleasure!
Randy
