#77 – Jah Live

This show is dedicated to my good friend Chris Heroux who is going through probably the hardest challenge in his entire life. First up is a set of uplifting tunes for him. The second half of the show is a version excursion on Bob Marley’s “Jah Live” rhythm. Fiona wraps up the show with “Stop Talking.” Let’s remember to not only talk and create awareness about the situation in Haiti, but to act on it by donating to reputable organizations.
Gramps Morgan – Wash the Tears
Duane Stephenson – You Are Not Alone
Gyptian – Life Hard
Beres Hammond – Cry No More
Chino – From Morning
Bob Marley – Jah Live
Luciano – Jah Live
Tarrus Riley – Love Created I
Duane Stephenson – August Town
Mikey Spice – I Cry You Cry
Fiona – Stop Talking

I am so glad to have found this podcast had to go out and get the gramps cd after hearing this. I am a singer song writer in minnesota. Thats one cold land but its the reggae in my heart that warms my soul. I am In the process of taking my band threw a huge transition from a jam into a reggae/dub sound. I have been writing reggae for almost 6 years now. The
second reggae/ska song I wrote is our most popular song. I get a lot of hate thoe see I am 1/4 Native american and 100% dread but to some i appear all white. In fact I just launched my new web site and the first three comments were all hate. I was thinking maybe you could do a show for those reggae artist of not so traditional skin tone. Suggestions would be like Apache Indian, Solders of jah’s army or SOJA (USA) Rebelution (usa), Tribal Seeds (usa){there second album is wow}, Katchafire (new Zealand), Fat freddy’s drop (new Zealand) {there album based on a true story got an album of the year award in europe} Toko Tosi (usa) Micheal Franti (usa) he has been working with sly and robbie for the las few years and brought a female jamican singer with him on his last tour . just to name a few.
No mater what you keep these wonderful podcast coming it is often what keeps me going.
And you have turned me on to so many artist. Blessings and Thank You!!!!
