#27 – Ariwa Lovers Rock & Mad Professor Interview
The Golden Touch studio is set up for interviews and my first guest is a staple in London’s reggae scene. Earlier this evening, Neil “Mad Professor” Fraser took some time out of his studio work to speak to me about the British lovers rock scene during the late ’70s and ’80s. This is gold. Also, Reggae Rhythm Update is now a dot com–RhythmUpdate.com. All previous URLs work and subscriptions are intact so there is no need to do any updating.
Playlist:
Jocelyn Brown – Daydreaming
Mad Professor – Daydreaming About Dub
John McLean – If I Gave My Heart to You
Sandra Cross – Country Living
Slim Linton – Two’s Company
Intense – On My Mind
Carroll Thompson – The Other Side of Love
Kofi – Black Pride

Thank you Michael. You are a big part of my show–from your current announcing on my podcast and from what I learned listening to you on radio in the ’90s. So any praise from you is taken with gratitude.
And Sniper, thank you for listening from Bermuda.

listening to these music, stirrs up so much,i can now recall going to those underground dances(SHOOVEEN OR THE BLUES) thats what we call it in the uk,in someones basement, new arrival fron Ja,
Looking for somewhere to dance to regga music,i always travel with my tape recording of the dances i went to in jamaica, featuring U Roy,Big Youth,IRoy,Lone Ranger’Junior Murvin-Police and Thieves, and the studio 1 vibes.this is so good
,i do hope most listeners feel like the way i do.
this pc#27 relaxing day time-BBQ type music, good however, not on the same level as stars and some of the others,in my opinion, still enjoying the music. this shows how reggae music can be versatile, music for different occasian, even though the studio one is older it on a different level,it touches more, words connot describe the feeling i get when the old alton ellis starts, heptones and those stars sings.
nuf respect.
Bawl Head Rasta.
