#8 - Lovers Rock (1974-1979)
Within the reggae music genre, “lovers rock” is England’s biggest contribution. First and second generation Jamaicans who made Britain their home recorded accessible, pop-influenced love songs that connected to the hearts millions of young music fans. This is the first of a four part, chronological special to compile the most influential British and Jamaican lovers rock music. And some of them are just my personal favorites.
